ageLOC Nutriol Scalp & Hair Shampoo is formulated specifically for fine, thinning, or limp hair — cleaning the scalp thoroughly without stripping the natural oils that fine hair desperately needs. It contains tricalgoxyl, the same patented active found in the Nutriol serum, which means every wash delivers a dose of follicle-nourishing actives to the scalp. The formula is sulphate-free, colour-safe, and produces a rich lather even with Ireland's typically soft water.
Standard shampoos — especially clarifying or volumising formulas loaded with sulphates — strip natural sebum from the scalp. For people with thinning hair, this creates a counterproductive cycle: the scalp overproduces oil to compensate, which can clog follicles and weigh down fine hair. Nutriol Shampoo cleans effectively using gentler surfactants that remove dirt and excess oil without triggering that rebound effect.
Ireland's soft water is actually an advantage here — it lathers easily and rinses clean, so you don't need extra product. Hard water areas (rare in Ireland but common in parts of the UK) often require more shampoo, which can exacerbate stripping. With our soft water, a 10p-coin-sized amount is enough for most people.
Wet hair thoroughly. Apply a small amount (less than you'd think — soft Irish water lathers this up quickly) to the scalp and massage for 1–2 minutes. Focus the massage on the scalp, not the lengths — the scalp is where the actives need to work. Rinse thoroughly. Follow with Nutriol Conditioner on mid-lengths and ends, then apply Nutriol Serum to the scalp for the full system benefit.
Wash frequency depends on your hair type: oily scalps may wash daily, normal scalps every 2–3 days. Don't feel pressured to wash daily — every-other-day washing is fine and can actually help fine hair retain more body between washes.
Yes. We deliver throughout the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland from the official Nu Skin EU warehouse. Standard delivery is 3–5 business days. Free delivery on orders over €100.
Volumising shampoos typically use coating agents (like silicones) to make hair appear thicker temporarily. Nutriol Shampoo delivers tricalgoxyl to the scalp to support the follicle environment where hair actually grows. It's addressing the source rather than the symptom. You'll still get clean, manageable hair, but the long-term benefit is scalp health, not just temporary volume.
Yes. The sulphate-free formula is gentle on colour and won't cause premature fading. It's one of the gentler shampoos in Nu Skin's range.
Approximately 6–8 weeks with every-other-day washing. With daily washing, closer to 4–5 weeks. Ireland's soft water means you need less product per wash than you might expect.
The full system (shampoo, conditioner, serum) delivers the best results. The shampoo on its own still provides tricalgoxyl with every wash, but the concentrated serum is where the heaviest active delivery happens. At minimum, we'd recommend the shampoo plus the serum.
For external use only. Avoid contact with eyes — if product enters eyes, rinse with clean water. Discontinue if scalp irritation occurs. This is a cosmetic product, not a medical hair loss treatment.
